For quite some time I’ve been dreaming of a black-white striped wrap skirt with the stripes being used in different directions. Starting point was a skirt from Zara. I loved its design but the fit was just not right – too wide at the waist and too narrow at the hips, the usual problem. Additionally, the horizontal stripes had been used in the back, which made one’s behind look very big. Luckily, we can do it ourselves, if we don’t find the right pattern and so the pattern for this skirt was born. When creating the pattern, I made sure that it sits at the waist even without a waistband. This allows to either tuck in one’s top or to wear it with a crop top without being constricting. This pattern also works really well in a solid colour or as a classic slim skirt, when the wrap piece is left off, as can be seen here. I hope that the Grande Arche Skirt pattern has not only filled a gap in my wardrobe, but is also to your liking. You can now find all versions of this skirt pattern in my Dawanda shop.
