Am letzten Wochenende war mir nach einem schnellen Nähprojekt, das ich innerhalb eines halben Tages fertigstellen konnte. Die Wahl fiel dann auf dieses Top mit Volantärmeln, für das ich schon den passenden melierten Stoff aus Bouretteseide bereitliegen hatte. Auch wenn es bei dem erneuten Wintereinbruch gerade nicht viel Sinn macht sommerliche Oberteile zu nähen, habe ich doch so gar keine Lust mehr auf zum Wetter passende Kleidung und stürze mich jetzt lieber in meine Frühlingskollektion. Wie ich dieses doch recht sommerliche Top bei den momentan winterlichen Temperaturen gestylt habe, könnt ihr morgen beim Me-Made-Mittwoch sehen. Last weekend I felt like starting a quick sewing project that could be finished within half a day. In the end, I chose this top with flounce sleeves, for which I already had the perfect melange fabric in my stash. Even though it does not really make sense to sew summery tops for the current wintery temperatures, I really can’t stand any more clothing that is weather appropriate and have decided to start with my spring collection instead. I will show you tomorrow how I have styled this top for the current wintery weather.

Schwierigkeitsgrad/level of difficulty: Mittelschwer/Intermediate

Größe/size: Ich habe meine übliche Größe 36 genäht. I made my usual size 36.
Nähzeit inkl. Zuschnitt/sewing time incl. cutting: Das Top lässt sich recht schnell nähen, schließlich hat es keinen Verschluss. Am kompliziertesten sind die Ecken am Ausschnitt, aber wenn man die bis zur Naht einschneidet, lassen sie sich auch gut in Form bügeln. Insgesamt habe ich etwa 5 Stunden für das Oberteil gebraucht. The top can be sewn quite quickly as it does not have any fastening. The most complicated details were the corners at the neckline. However, when you clip the seam allowance until the seam, you can get them in shape somewhat easily. Altogether it took me around 5 hours to sew this top.
Kosten/costs: Die Bouretteseide habe ich hier bei Dawanda für 13 € gekauft. Bouretteseide ist leider ein wenig bekanntes, aber sehr interessantes Material. Wenn man es anfasst, würde man nie darauf kommen, dass es Seide ist, da es sich weniger fein und weich als die sonst bekannte Seide anfasst. Für Bouretteseide werden nämlich die kurzen Seidenfasern verwendet, die am Kokon übrigbleiben und sonst Abfall wären. Da diese Fasern nicht komplett vom Seidenleim und Kokonresten befreit werden können, sind die Fasern unregelmäßig und weisen Knötchen auf. Dadurch entsteht eine interessante Optik, wenn die Seide verwebt wird. I bought the bourette silk at Dawanda for 13 €. Even though bourette silk is a very interesting material, which is unfortunately quite unknown. When you touch bourette silk, you would never guess that it is actually silk as it is less soft and silky as the usual silk. For bourette silk the short fibers that remain at the cocoon after the spinning process are used. As these fibers can’t be completely degummed and also leftovers from the cocoon remain, the fibers are irregular and show knots, which turns into this interesting texture once the fibers are woven into fabric.
Schnittmodifikation/pattern modification: Der Schnitt hat von Anfang an gleich gut gepasst. Lediglich die Rundung an den Schulternähten musste ich etwas abflachen. Das muss ich aber bei allen Raglanärmeln machen, da meine Schultern flacher sind als bei den meisten Schnitten vorgesehen. The pattern had a great fit from the beginning on. I only had to flatten the shoulder seam at the raglan sleeves. However, I always need to do this with raglan sleeves as my shoulders are not as rounded as designed.
Fazit/conclusion: Mir gefällt das Resultat sehr! Das Top ist zwar sehr weit, aber durch die verkürzte Form, wirkt es trotzdem nicht unförmig. Außerdem gefallen mir die Volants an den Ärmeln, wie ihr hier schon gesehen habt, kriege ich von solchen Ärmeln gerade nicht genug. Und wie gefällt euch das Top? And of course, I’m really into the sleeves with flounce. As you could already see here, I’m really loving this type of sleeve right now. How about you? Do you like this top?
