Munich Fabric Start

Those of you that are following me via Facebook, already found out that I have been at the fabric fair Munich Fabric Start last week. The Munich Fabric Start always marks the beginning of the new season and even though it is a fabric fair, it already shows the upcoming fashion trends. This time for fall/winter 2014/2015. But due to the fast pace of current fashions, one can already find some trends that were shown at the fair in stores.

When entering the fair, the visitors are already greeted by the trend colors for fall/winter 2014/2015 in the shape of large yarn bobbins. Visitors can take some of the thread from each bobbin so that they have the trend colors readily available. As you can see below, the so-called frosty pastels will also be in trend during the next fall/winter season. Frosty pastels are for example light pink, lilac, light blue and pastel green. The typical natural colors such as olive green, fawn brown, fir green and dark brown, which always remind me of a autumn forest, will also be fashionable again.

The typical winter colors black, grey and dark red will also be on trend.

It seems like all shades of red will be the major trend color during fall/winter 2014/2015. On the bobbins it could be found in shades of pink, coral or dark red. I was a little bit surprised by the flashy shades of blue and turquoise that were present, since they remind me of summer, sun, vacation. At least they will make the next winter a little more colorful than the current one. I find the dark shades in stores right now quite depressing.
It’s not that visible on the picture below, but the yellow and light grey are actually gold and silver lurex threads. Seems like the so-called metallics will again play a major role during fall/winter 2014/2015.
And what do you think about the trend colors? Do you try to follow current trends or do they not matter to you?
