Due to the inconsistent weather, today’s photo shooting had to happen very quickly during a rain break. Since the details of my new skirt and my first piece of the Mini Wardrobe Challenge are not that visible, I added pictures of the skirt on my dress form below. Even though the skirt wrinkles easily (as visible on the picture), I’m very satisfied with its outcome. You can find more Me-Made-Mittwoch outfits on the corresponding blog.

Blazer: H & M

Skirt: me-made Burdastyle # 119 May 2012 (more info below)
Scarf: Hallhuber
Belt: Mango
Booties: 5th Avenue

Pattern: Burdastyle # 119 Mai 2012

Difficulty: ●●○○○

Size: 36 (my usual size)

Sewing time incl. cutting: Around 4 hours.

Costs: I bought this rust coloured corduroy velvet at my favourite fabric store for 7€/m. With a consumption of approx. 1 m and an invisible zipper the overall cost was around 8 €.

Pattern review: This pattern has a perfect fit. Even though I had concerns that the straight cut waistband would stick out, it also fit perfectly.
Pattern modification: I used the skirt pattern with a length of 50 cm. In addition, I cut the front on the fold and added an invisible zipper at the center back.

Conclusion: The skirt has a perfect fit and the pattern offers many possible variations. Somewhere I have seen a version with a button panel in front which I might replicate. This is definitely not the last time that I have used this pattern!
