[stextbox id=”grey”]Pattern: Burda April 2013 #112

Difficulty: ●●○○○

Size: 36 (my usual size)[/stextbox]

Sewing time incl. cutting: Due to the double layer, the cutting and sewing took longer than usual, approx. 6 h.

Costs: I got this digitally printed cotton/silk in a lot from a supplier for 2€/m. Altogether I only paid around 5€ for this top.

Pattern review: There is a picture sewing course inside the magazine for this pattern, which makes the sewing easier. Nevertheless, I ran into some problems while sewing this pattern. Mainly because I could not feed the length of elastic that they gave into the hem. It was way too long! In the end I just cut it off. Additionally, the fit is not the best. The armholes are around 3 cm too deep so that the bra shows. Also the neckline is too wide with the straps sitting really far on the shoulders.

Pattern modification: None

Conclusion: I’m in love with this summer top even though the fit of the pattern is not the best. Since I would have to modify the pattern and this is quite outstanding, I will probably not sew this pattern again.
