Manchmal plane ich richtig die Hintergründe für meine Fotos und dann passieren sie wieder ganz spontan, wie die heutigen Fotos. An dem Tag hatten wir wenig Zeit und haben das Umsteigen am Ostkreuz sowie die vorbeifahrenden S-Bahnen genutzt. So ein klassischer gerader Rock aus kleinem Vichykaro kann ja ganz schnell spießig und altbacken aussehen, deshalb habe ich ihn mit einem gerade sehr modischen Blouson und meinen heißgeliebten weißen Turnschuhen kombiniert. Als Schnitt habe ich meinen Grande Arche Rock verwendet, da sich der gerade Saum perfekt für Muster jeder Art eignet und die gerade Form schmal ist, aber nicht einengt. Das heutige Outfit erinnert mich ganz stark an die 50er Jahre und vor allem an den Film „Grease“. Mit meiner rosa Bomberjacke hätte ich mit dem Outfit gleich bei den Pink Ladies mitmachen können. Bei „Sewing by the Sea“ war ich ganz fasziniert davon, dass Lore von About My Buttonbox ihre komplette Garderobe im Stil der 20er Jahre näht. Und auch ihre Schuhe und sonstigen Accessoires entsprechen diesem Stil. Wenn ich mir ein Jahrzehnt aussuchen würde, wären das mit Sicherheit die 50er Jahre. Dabei gefallen mir die beiden modischen Seiten dieses Jahrzehnts. Denn ich mag sehr gerne die sehr feminine Mode mit betonter Taille und weiten Röcken, wie man hier und hier ja schon sehen konnte. Allerdings gefällt mir auch die rebellische Seite mit Lederjacke und Jeans, wie sie von Stars wie Marlon Brando oder James Dean verkörpert wurde. Versteht mich nicht falsch, das bezieht sich rein auf die modischen Aspekte, denn in den 50ern selber hätte ich nicht leben wollen, wo man als Frau stark eingeschränkt und vor allem Hausfrau und Mutter war. Da haben wir es heutzutage doch schon viel besser, auch wenn man sicher noch das eine oder andere verbessern könnte. Und in welchem Jahrzehnt wärt ihr modisch am ehesten zu Hause?

 

Ostkreuz, Berlin – A Touch of Retro

Sometimes I plan the backgrounds for my pictures ahead of time and sometimes they happen spontaneously as with today’s pictures. That day we didn’t have much time and used the transit as well as the incoming S-Bahn for the pictures. Such a straight skirt with small-sized gingham can easily look old-fashioned and conservative. That’s why I styled it with a modern bomber jacket and my beloved white sneakers. Today’s has a retro feel to me and reminds me of the movie Grease. Had I worn my pink bomber jacket, I certainly could have been a member of the Pink Ladies. At „Sewing by the Sea“ I was very fascinated that Lore of About My Buttonbox only sews garments in the style of the 1920s. And also her shoes and other accessories are matching this style. If I had to choose one decade, it would certainly be the 1950s as I really love the fashion of that time. On the one hand, I really love the very feminine fashion with pronounced waist and wide skirts, as you can see here and here. On the other hand, I’m also liking the more rebellious side of the decade with biker jacket and jeans as represented by stars like Marlon Brando and James Dean. Don’t get me wrong, my fascination with the decade is purely focused on the fashion as I really would not have liked to live during that time, when women were very restricted and mainly wife and mother. Living in today’s time is so much better, even though their is still room for improvement. Which would be your decade if you had to choose one?
