Als ich zuerst nach Berlin gekommen bin, hatte ich ehrlich gesagt noch gar keine genaue Vorstellung in welchem Kiez ich leben wollte. Friedrichshain hatte es mir irgendwie angetan, da ich aber für die ersten Wochen ein Zimmer in diesem hippen Stadtteil über Airbnb gemietet hatte, musste ich feststellen, dass mir die tägliche Partystimmung und die hohen Mieten doch nicht so zusagen. Am Ende bin ich in Köpenick gelandet und ich könnte nicht glücklicher mit meiner Wahl sein, auch wenn es zuerst vor allem eine Preis-Leistungsentscheidung war. Schließlich bekommt man im (noch) nicht hippen Köpenick 10 m² mehr und zahlt 50 € weniger im Monat. So habe ich in meiner Wohnung die zusätzlichen Quadratmeter für meine Nähecke nutzen können. Auch sonst habe ich mich gleich in Köpenick verliebt, denn es ist der mit Abstand wald- und wasserreichste Stadtteil Berlins und besitzt eine wunderschöne Altstadt. Auch von der Lage her habe ich es gut erwischt, denn so bin ich innerhalb von ein paar Minuten an der S-Bahn und kann schnell (ca. 30 Minuten) nach Mitte fahren. Ich bin aber genauso schnell in der Altstadt und an der Spree, wo die heutigen Fotos entstanden sind. Mit meinem neuen Blouson aus Lochstickerei hatte ich zuerst etwas gefremdelt, da dunklere Oberteile durch die leichte Transparenz unschön durchschimmern. Das heutige Outfit gefällt mir aber richtig gut, da es für mich einen etwas maritimen Touch hat, auch wenn es nicht das übliche blau-weiß-rot ist. Jetzt muss ich nur noch weitere Kombinationen finden, damit der Blouson auch zu einem Lieblingsteil in meinem Kleiderschrank wird.

Köpenick, Berlin – Nautical at the Spree

When I first came to Berlin, I had no clue in which district (called Kiez in Berlin) I wanted to live at. I had really liked the super hip Friedrichshain during previous visits, but after living there in a room rented via Airbnb for the first couple of weeks, I quickly noticed that it was not my cup of tea. The nightly partying as well as the rising rents were just not wat I was looking for. In the end, I rented an apartment in Köpenick and I couldn’t be happier about this, even though it was at first a pure value for money decision. After all, one gets an additional 10 m² and pays approx. 50 € less in not (yet) hip Köpenick. I could certainly use the additional square meters for the sewing corner in my apartment. I quicky fell in love with Köpenick as it has by far the most forest as well as water of all the Berlin districts in addition to a beautiful old town. I’m also perfectly located within Köpenick as it only takes me a few minutes to reach the S-Bahn to ride downtown (approx. 30 minutes). But I’m also really close to the old town and the river Spree, where today’s pictures were taken. At first, I was not loving my newly made eyelet bomber jacket as darker tops don’t look good underneath due to the slight transparency of the eyelet. However, I’m really loving today’s outfit, especially as it does have a maritime touch to me even though it is not the usual blue-white-red. Now I just have to find more ways to wear this bomber jacket so that it becomes a staple in my wardrobe.
