Even though the temperatures are now really autumnal, I do not want to withhold my favourite me-made piece of the summer from you. The pictures were taken at the beginning of September during my vacation in the south of France, where it was still midsummer. Somehow I was never a fan of wrap dresses, because I feared that they would open up while wearing. And then I was seeing wrap dresses everywhere this summer. And just like it is every time when I keep on seeing something, I’m convinced that I need one for myself. Do you feel the same way? However, I could not be more happy with my venture out of my comfort zone. I really don’t know why I haven’t tried it before, because a wrap dress creates a very slim line and is very feminine. When it is windy outside, I have to take care that the skirt doesn’t open up too much but I dearly love my new wrap dress nevertheless. More about the pattern below:
Denim jacket: Zara
Wrap dress: me-made Burdastyle #122 10/2011
Bracelet: Tokyo Jane
Bag: Vintage from fleamarket
Sandals: Les Tropéziennes
Nailpolish: Essie “A-List”
Pattern modifications: I only shortened the sleeves to a length of 17 cm, no other changes.
Conclusion: Why did I stay away from wrap patterns for such a long time? I’m in love with the patterns and especially like the pleats at the waist, which create a slim shape. This dress has already been followed by a version in maxi length. And I could also use a wrap dress with long sleeves for autumn or how about a blouse version? As you can see, the pattern will definitely be used again as the possibilities are endless.
