Not an easy motto for me, as I’m not really a fan of wrap dresses and the 2 that I have sewn are only worn very seldom. What I don’t like about wrap dresses is that the neckline can quite easily open too wide. But maybe this preconception will be set right today with the other participants‘ wrap dresses. Anyway, this was the perfect opportunity to pull out this wrap dress (even though it is just a fake wrap) and to style it in such a way that it fits my current taste. The print can unfortunately look a little grandma at times. Additionally, this dress is my oldest me-made piece that is still in my wardrobe and the beginning of my life as a sewing nerd. At the time, it was the year 2007, when I got to know burdastyle.com, which opened up a whole new world of sewing to me. I had finished my dressmaking apprenticeship, which killed almost any joy in sewing, and started my study course. Back then I used to sew as much in a year as I do now in a month. Which was mainly caused by not knowing anybody, who was sewing as well. The discovery of the sewing community has resulted in lots of new sewing inspiration and a passion for sewing that has not stopped ever since. And how did you come to sewing and the sewing community?
